The Faculty of Literature and Languages was established by Executive Decree no. 13-403 dated 27 Muharram 1435 H, corresponding to December 1, 2013, amending and supplementing Executive Decree no. 09-11 dated 7 Muharram 1430 H, corresponding to January 4, 2009, including the creation of the University of Médéa and determining the number of faculties that make up the University, including the Faculty of Literature and Languages, which is one of the educational institutions that harmoniously complements the other faculties. It is home to about 3,800 students who pursue their studies in a variety of fields with high quality specialized training, supervised by about 150 permanent faculty members of various ranks. Its mission is to train an Algerian generation that is balanced in its personality, integrated in its reception of knowledge, and aware of the need to keep pace with the remarkable development caused by the acceleration of knowledge in the fields of science and technology, as well as in the humanities, arts and social sciences.
It is only possible to catch up with this train of progress if efforts are united, if visions come together, if concepts of dialogue are consolidated, if forms of exclusion disappear, and if values of respect are defined between all those who contribute to a balanced cognitive construction leading to the global quality we all seek.
