Historical overview

The Department of Legal and Administrative Sciences was created at the National Institute of Higher Education in Electrical Engineering (former) in Médéa, then accredited as the Institute of Legal and Administrative Sciences at the Médéa University Center, in accordance with Executive Decree no. 04-267 of August 29, 2004, supplementing decree no. 2000-198 of July 25, 2000, creating the Médéa University Center.

In 2009, the Faculty of Law was created under Executive Decree no. 09/11 dated January 4, 2009, and the faculty was expanded to include a political science department under Decree no. 16-74 dated February 22, 2016. At present, the Faculty of Law has around 1,881 students supervised by 87 permanent teaching staff.
