Faculty of Law Library
Introduction:
The Faculty of Law Library is a true mirror that reflects the image of the university, its level of progress and development, and the extent to which it achieves the requirements of scientific research. It represents an information system whose primary purpose is to provide the student, teacher and researcher with what they need in their field of research, with scientific documents such as books, manuscripts, scientific journals and knowledge references, each according to his specialization.
Based on the decision of the university administration, the theater building was allocated to the Faculty of Law, while the library is on the upper floor of the latter.
As for the organizational aspect, it includes the following departments :
1- Documentary Fund Management department:
* Inventory: It is concerned with the process of recording all documentary production from books, dictionaries, periodicals, and magazines… that meet the needs of beneficiaries.
* Documentary processing: Its tasks are to classify, index, and index books in Arabic and foreign languages, especially French, in addition to processing memos.
2- Guidance and Bibliographic Research Department: It includes a storehouse for Arabic and foreign books as well as reference books (notes, periodicals, the Official journal, magazines, dictionaries), and this service supervises the follow-up of the lending process and organizes it for both teachers and students.
* Bibliographic research services: The library provides its services automatically through a database using the OPAC program.
* Loan services:
A- Internal loan: This loan is for reference documents (dictionaries, encyclopedias, etc.) and viewing the Official Journal and various periodicals as well as university theses.
B- External loan: This loan is for books in both languages, for a specific period of time according to the terms and controls of the loan subject to the internal regulations of the library.
* Guidance service so that when the reader faces any difficulty in searching for information, he can go to the library services to facilitate his task.
Documentary balance: The faculty library’s documentary balance contains 7631 titles equivalent to 44279 copies, including 6993 titles in Arabic equivalent to 42462 copies, 635 titles in French equivalent to 1809 copies, 03 titles in English equivalent to 08 copies, and notes contain 1681 titles equivalent to 3187 copies.
As for dictionaries, there are: 114 dictionaries equivalent to 457 copies, 293 magazines (periodicals) equivalent to 792 copies, and 30 titles for encyclopedias equivalent to 118 copies.
The library also contains:
Two reading halls with a capacity of: 348 seats
A reading hall for professors on the lower floor.
A reading hall for doctoral students, in addition to internal lending with a capacity of: 10 seats.
