Higher education in Medea has started during the academic year of 1988-1989, in accordance with the executive decree No. 48-89 of November 4th 1989, at the administration building that hosted the National Institute of Higher Education of electrical engineering. At that time, the latter was affiliated to El Farabi middle school. Applications for equivalence are submitted exclusively online on the MESRS website in accordance with Order No. 1260 of December 20, 2015 setting the list of documents required for the application file for equivalence of foreign diplomas and university titles and the terms of their filing.
