The Faculty of Science was established in 2016 within Dr. Yahia Farès University of Médéa, pursuant to Decree No. 74-16 dated April 22, 2016. Its missions include ensuring the following:

undergraduate and postgraduate education (Bachelor’s and Postgraduate programs);

scientific research activities;
-
continuing education, professional development, and qualification programs.
In addition to these missions, the Faculty of Science of Médéa is particularly entrusted with promoting science in both its fundamental and applied aspects, as well as supporting development and social and cultural advancement.
The faculty is administered under the authority of the Dean, who is responsible for managing and coordinating all faculty services and representing the faculty before the Rector of the University. The Dean is assisted by two Vice-Deans: one in charge of studies and student-related affairs, and the other in charge of postgraduate studies, scientific research, and external relations, in addition to a Secretary General.
The faculty also includes an Administrative Council and a Scientific Council.
To carry out its missions, the Faculty of Science initially consisted of three departments created at the time of its establishment by Decree No. 583 dated June 09, 2016:

Following its restructuring in accordance with Decision No. 391 dated March 27, 2024, the Faculty of Science now comprises four departments:

In addition, the faculty temporarily ensures the pedagogical management of two classical programs until the establishment of the specialized institutes:

State Engineer Program in Agronomic Sciences

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Program
The faculty also includes laboratories that actively contribute to the promotion of scientific research and provide supervision for master’s degree theses
