Council of the faculty

The faculty council is an advisory body composed of elected members and appointed members according to Article 36 of the official Journal of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria “number 51”. This body is established at the level of the faculty deanery with the aim of providing opinions and recommendations for the development of the the faculty and participating in the preparation and implementation of the budget as well as all activities related to the the faculty, and it meets four times regularly.

Missions and tasks

The scientific council of the faculty issues opinions and recommendations on:

-The organization and content of teaching,

-The organization of research studies,

– Proposing for research programs,

– Proposing for the creation or deletion of departments and/or sectors and research units and laboratories, proposals for the opening, renewal and/or closure of postgraduate specialisations and the number of positions to be filled,

-Profiles and needs for teachers.

It is also responsible for:

-Approving postgraduate research topics and proposing the defense juries,

-Proposing university accreditation juries,

-Examining the reports of the faculty’s educational and scientific activities which are transmitted by the dean of the faculty, accompanied by the opinions and recommendations of the council, to the rector.

-It may be asked to consider any other educational or scientific question submitted to it by the dean.
