Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) Program

The Institute of Veterinary Medicine at Yahia Fares University of Medea is currently under establishment. Its academic activities are presently carried out through the Veterinary Medicine Program, which is affiliated with the Department of Agriculture within the Faculty of Sciences. This program serves as the foundation for the future Institute and reflects the University’s commitment to expanding its academic offerings in veterinary sciences in response to the needs of higher education and the agricultural sector.

The Veterinary Medicine Program was established during the 2023–2024 academic year. Beginning with the 2026–2027 academic year, it will provide academic instruction and practical training for the first three years of the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) program, in accordance with the nationally approved curriculum.

The program currently enrolls 57 first-year students and 29 second-year students, who benefit from both theoretical instruction and practical training delivered by qualified academic staff.

As the Institute continues to develop, efforts are focused on strengthening its academic, scientific, and technical infrastructure to provide a high-quality learning environment. Upon its completion, the Institute will offer a comprehensive veterinary education that integrates theoretical knowledge with hands-on clinical and laboratory training, while fostering scientific research, innovation, and community engagement.
