Faculty of Science

The library is a scientific and cultural space within the university institution. It is concerned with collecting, organizing, and providing various sources and references (books, journals, theses, and digital resources) with the aim of supporting the educational process and scientific research.

The university library in Algeria is considered an essential part of the university structure. It operates under the administrative supervision of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and serves students, professors, and researchers through lending services, on-site consultation, and providing databases and digital resources, contributing to the completion of research and dissertations and the development of knowledge.

General Organizational Framework:

University libraries are supervised by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and are managed according to administrative regulations within the university. They are considered part of the pedagogical and scientific structures of the institution.

Central Library and Branch Libraries:

In most Algerian universities, there are:

  • A central library at the university level
  • Branch libraries or annexes at the faculty and institute levels

These structures are interconnected within a single network to facilitate access to references.

Presentation of the Faculty Library:

The Faculty of Science Library is an academic library primarily established to support scientific research by providing scientific sources and references to faculty members, researchers, and students. It originated from the division of the Faculty of Science and Technology into two faculties—Faculty of Science and Faculty of Technology—in 2016. As a result, each faculty gained its own independent library in 2017, after previously sharing a single library.

Message from the Head of the Library:

The Faculty of Science Library is pleased to open its doors to its students, professors, and researchers as a space that brings together knowledge and serves as a fundamental source for supporting teaching and research within the faculty.

We strive to provide users with a suitable environment for reading and research, along with a constantly updated collection of books, references, journals, and academic theses, in addition to electronic resources that keep pace with modern developments in various scientific fields.

Our library is not merely a place for storing books; it is an active partner in improving the quality of education, developing research skills, and promoting the use of modern technologies in accessing information.

We also continuously seek to improve our services and facilitate access to library resources through digitization and the ongoing modernization of cataloging and databases.

I invite all library users to make the best use of this space and to contribute their ideas and suggestions so that this scientific institution remains a center of knowledge that serves both students and professors.

Together, we advance science and knowledge.
