Registration
Magister’s Degree
Registration for the Magister ‘s degree is open to students who have passed the entrance examination organized at the beginning of each academic year. Registration for the competition is also permitted for holders of an engineering degree or an equivalent recognized qualification.
Doctorate (PhD)
First-time registration for a doctorate is open to holders of a Magister’s degree or an equivalent recognized qualification.

Notes:
– Registration files must be submitted to the Postgraduate Studies Administration of the Faculty before the specified deadline, depending on the case. The file must be signed, verified, and approved by the department.
– First-time registration files for a thesis or dissertation must include a decision from the Scientific Committee of the relevant department, specifying the proposed topic, the supervising teachers, their rank, and the institution to which they belong.
Important:
Pursuant to Decree No. 98-254 dated August 17, 1998, and Decision No. 90 dated April 12, 2003, which define the procedures for registration and re-registration, the following points should be noted:
– After the first registration and two re-registrations for a Magister’s degree, no further registration is permitted under the legislation.
Notes:
– Incomplete registration or re-registration files will not be accepted.
– No registration or re-registration file will be accepted after the specified deadline.
– Any changes to the registration or re-registration forms will result in the rejection of the file.
– Academic certificates are issued based on the registration and re-registration forms.
Re-Registration
Re-registration for the second time in postgraduate studies must follow the procedure below:

Changing the Topic and Supervisor
Changing the Topic
A request to change the topic of a Magister’s thesis or PhD dissertation must be justified by the supervising teacher.
Changing the Supervisor
A request to change the supervising professor for a Magister’s thesis or PhD dissertation must meet the following conditions:
– Approval from the previous supervisor.
– Approval from the new supervisor.
– Preservation of registration years.
Changing the Topic and Supervisor
A request to change both the topic and the supervising professor for a Magister’s thesis or PhD dissertation must meet the following conditions:
– Approval from the supervising teacher of the thesis or dissertation.
– In this case, the student must submit a re-registration file accompanied by the approval of the supervising teacher.
Topic Proposal, Freezing, and Re-Admission
Magister’s Degree
– Certificate of success in the first year of the Magister’s program or an equivalent recognized qualification.
– The proposed topic must align with the candidate’s specialization.
– A supervisor with a high rank (Professor or Associate lecturer) or a permanent researcher (Research Director or Research Professor).
Doctorate (PhD)
Refer to the scientific conditions for organizing the PhD degree.
Freezing Re-Registration
Re-registration for Magister’s and PhD students may be frozen after:
– Authorization from the supervising professor of the Magister’s thesis or PhD dissertation, justified for medical or family reasons.
– A request addressed to the Chair of the Scientific Council, approved by the supervising professor of the thesis or dissertation, accompanied by supporting documents.
Re-Integration
Re-integration into the Magister’s or PhD program is permitted when justifications for the interruption of registration are provided.
Note:
Registration years remain preserved.
Defense Procedures
Magister’s Thesis Defense
– Defense decision signed by the supervising teacher.
– Copy of the Magister’s thesis.
Composition of the Defense Committee
The committee consists of three to five members (Professor, senior lecturer , or Research Professor).
Defense File
The defense file includes:
– Positive report prepared by the supervising teacher.
– Pedagogical committee decision.
– Copy of the thesis.
– Defense committee proposal prepared by the supervising teacher.
PhD Dissertation Defense
Defense Conditions:
– At least four registrations.
– Positive report prepared by the supervising teacher.
– Publication of an article in a reputable scientific journal.
– Scientific presentations.
Composition of the Defense Committee:
The PhD dissertation is defended before a committee of four to six members, including the supervising professor as the rapporteur. At least half of the committee members must be external to the institution to which the student belongs, selected based on their expertise.
Defense File:
– Defense report approved by the supervising teacher.
– Curriculum vitae of scientific works.
– Dissertation summary (maximum 20 pages) submitted to the Faculty’s Scientific Council and the Departmental Scientific Council.
– Copy of the dissertation.
– Copies of presentations and publications.
University Accreditation
The scientific condition for acceptance of a University Accreditation file is the submission of at least one publication in a recognized scientific journal after the PhD dissertation.
File Composition:
– Written request to the Chair of the Scientific Council.
– Employment certificate.
– Copy of the appointment decision.
– Copies of all obtained certificates.
– Five copies of a detailed and complete curriculum vitae highlighting the scientific career (teaching, scientific materials taught, pedagogical responsibilities, supervised theses, etc.).
– Copy of the PhD dissertation.
– Five copies of the dissertation summary.
– Five copies of a 15-page scientific summary focusing on the research activities undertaken by the candidate, including descriptions of recent research topics, significant scientific results, and future research prospects.
