As part of Yahia Fares University of Medea’s strategy to expand its network of partnerships with international higher education and research institutions, and on the instructions of the University Rector, Professor Djaafar Bouarouri, the Vice-Rector for External Relations and Cooperation carried out a working visit to the Higher Institute of Biotechnology of Sfax (Republic of Tunisia). The aim was to represent the University and explore ways of establishing academic and scientific cooperation between the two institutions.

During a working session with the Institute’s administrative team, a comprehensive presentation of the University of Medea was given, covering its faculties and fields of study, with particular emphasis on the Faculty of Technology and the Faculty of Sciences, whose training and research areas could provide a solid basis for effective cooperation with the Institute.

The discussions that followed revealed a shared interest in developing cooperation, especially in joint scientific research, academic mobility for students, teachers and researchers, the exchange of pedagogical and scientific experience, and the organization of scientific events, workshops and joint research initiatives.

The meeting also addressed how to move to the implementation stage by drawing up an action plan defining priority areas of cooperation and coordination and follow-up mechanisms. It was stressed that the success of university partnerships is measured by their ability to put commitments into practice, ensure continuity, and deliver concrete results for the students, teachers and researchers of both institutions.

At the close of the visit, the Vice-Rector expressed his sincere thanks to the Institute’s Director and entire administrative team for their warm welcome, spirit of openness, and willingness to help develop and carry out joint initiatives.

This visit is part of the University’s efforts, under the supervision of its Rector, to strengthen its presence on the international academic stage, particularly in the Maghreb region, opening new prospects for training, scientific research and innovation.
