On Tuesday, September 22, 2026, University Yahia Fares of Medea hosted the official opening ceremony for the 2026-2027 academic year in a distinguished academic atmosphere, attended by members of the university community, local partners, and honored guests.

Attendees tuned in via videoconference to the keynote address delivered from the Wilaya of Jijel by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The Minister highlighted key strategies and milestones for the new academic term, extending his best wishes for a successful year.

Following this, Vice-Rector ,Professor . Ismail Koudik delivered a speech on behalf of the Rector of the University, Professor Djaafar Bouarouri. He welcomed the audience and reaffirmed the university’s commitment to advancing academic performance, enhancing the quality of educational training, and fostering scientific research aligned with national aspirations.

The ceremony concluded with remarks from the Wali of Medea, who officially announced the launch of the new academic year across the province, wishing students, faculty, and administrative staff a successful and productive year.
