Closing of the Summer School “Linux and Free Software” at the University of Medea

The University of Medea successfully concluded, on Thursday, July 24, 2025, the activities of the Summer School “Linux and Free Software”, organized under the supervision of Professor Djaafar Bouarouri, Rector of the University and President of the Regional Conference of Central Universities, in coordination with the National Committee for Free Software. This scientific event, which began on July 20, brought together around 200 doctoral students from various Algerian universities and disciplines. Participants benefited from an intensive training program that included practical workshops and scientific lectures on Linux systems and free software. During the closing ceremony, the Rector praised the high level of organization and the scientific content of the school, reaffirming the university’s commitment to supporting scientific initiatives that open new horizons for research and innovation, while promoting a culture of free software among students and researchers. Participants expressed their appreciation for the quality of the training and the spirit of scientific exchange and collaboration that characterized this edition. They also expressed their wish to see such initiatives continue in the future, given their positive impact on students’ academic and professional paths.
