Opening of the 2025/2026 Academic Year at the University of Medea

The University of Medea celebrated, in a festive atmosphere, the official opening of the 2025/2026 academic year, in the presence of local authorities, the university community, and several guests. The ceremony was highlighted by the message of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, delivered via videoconference. He emphasized the importance of strengthening quality in higher education and supporting students towards excellence and innovation, while commending the pioneering role of Algerian universities in serving national development. The Rector of the University of Medea, Professor Djaafar Bouarouri, then welcomed all attendees, highlighting the efforts made by the university to ensure a smooth and well-organized academic start. He also reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to improving training and research conditions, as well as supporting students in their academic and scientific journeys. The Wali of Medea then took the floor to underline the essential role of the university as a driving force for local and national development. He called on the university community to redouble its efforts to reach higher levels in education and research, while reiterating the province’s commitment to supporting the university and accompanying it in its future projects, with the aim of further enhancing the influence of this scientific institution. The ceremony also featured the recognition of a group of teachers who were promoted to the rank of professor, as well as a tribute to outstanding students who received the Quality Label — a well-deserved acknowledgment of seriousness and excellence in academic and scientific performance. The event concluded in an atmosphere filled with gratitude and loyalty to commitment, with a renewed determination to continue progressing towards an open, pioneering, and excellent university, aligned with the challenges of the present and the aspirations of the future.
